- FileMaker Pro 11 Released
- Tuesday saw the release of the eagerly awaited FileMaker Pro 11 Series and by all reports, developers are delighted with the new range of features it has to offer.
A Subsidiary of US Computer giant, Apple, FileMaker is a cross-platform relational database.
FileMaker is an integration of a database engine and a GUI or Graphical User Interface that allows users to modify a database or indeed create local or web based database applications by dragging new elements onto layouts, creating buttons and forms on screens and adding color, graphics and text.
FileMaker has long been favored over it’s contemporaries, such as Microsoft’s Access and MYSQL, due to it’s cross-platform capabilities and ease and speed of development.
The FileMaker Pro 11 series, consisting of FileMaker Pro 11, FileMaker Pro 11 Advanced, FileMaker Server ver.11 and FileMaker Server ver.11 Advanced, introduces many new and exciting features to the FileMaker world. These include FileMaker Charts, Recurring Imports, Quick Reports, an Enhanced Layout Assistant, Quick Find, Inspector, Object Badges, Layout folders and Portal Filtering to name but a few.
We will examine some of these new features in the upcoming posts.
Stay Tuned.
